Ghaqda Sajjieda Dilettanti Gzira.

L-ghaqda Sajjieda Dilettanti, Gzira giet imwaqqfa fit-3 ta’ Novembru 2002. It-twaqqif ta’ l-ghaqda sehh wara li l-progett ta’ Manoel Island kien se jolqot hazin lil hafna mill-membri taghna u ghalhekk inhasset il-htiega li ninghaqdu biex flimkien inkunu nistghu niffaccjaw din l-isfida.

L-ghanijiet ta’ l-ghaqda huma diversi imma l-ghan ewlieni huwa li nipprotegu l-interessi tal-membri taghna li ghandhom bcejjec tal-bahar li juzaw id-dahla tal-Gzira u Ta’ Xbiex bhala post fejn huma mmazrati. Ghan iehor huwa li tizgura li l-facilitajiet fil-bahar u fuq l-art ikuna adegwati u kull zvilupp li jsir iqis ukoll l-interessi tal-membri. Barra l-ghanijiet li semmejt inheggu wkoll il-qawmien ta’ sens civiku u ta’ dmir fost il-membri sajjieda u d-dilettanti tal- Gzira.

Il-President ta’ l-Ghaqda kien wiehed mill- fundaturi tal-Federazzjoni ta’ l-Ghaqdiet tas-Sajjieda Dilettanti Malta li l-Ghaqda taghna hi membru u dejjem taghti kontribut. Zewg membri mill-kumitat ta’ l-ghaqda taghna huma wkoll membri fl-ezekuttiv ta’ l-istess Federazzjoni ta’ l-Ghaqdiet tas-Sajjieda Dilettanti Malta.

Il-lum l-Ghaqda taghna ghandha 9 membri tal-Kumitat skond l-Istatut taghha u 210 membru fi hdanha. Dan l-ahhar sentejn il-kumitat kien attiv hafna minhabba diversi zviluppi li ser isehhu fid-dahliet fejn hemm jirmiggjaw il-membri taghna. Fi Frar tas-sena l-ohra l-ghaqda ntalbet biex tattendi laqgha ma’ Transport Mallta u f’din il-laqgha, l-ghaqda nghatat kopja ta’ avviz li kien hareg fil-Gazetta tal-Gvern biex min kien irmiggat bejn il-koordinati specifikati, inehhi l-irmigg sat-28 ta’ Frar 2011. Fi- 11 t’Ottubru ta’ l-istess sena Transport Malta harget avviz iehor biex innehhu l-irmiggi f’parti ohra in-naha ta’ Xbiex. Naturalment l-Ghaqda oggezzjonat bil-qawwa ghal dawn l-avvizi, specjalment fir-rigward tal-fatt li min kien ordnat li jiccaqlaq ma kienx sejjer jinghata post alternattiv.

L-Ghaqda hadet il-passi mehtiega biex tipprotegi l-interessi taghha billi saru diversi kuntatti ma’ nies prominenti fil-pajjiz , intervisti fuq stazzjonijiet ta’ t-television waqt l-ahbarijiet u anke’ saret intervista lill- President fuq gazzetta ta’ kuljum li ghaliha iddedikat pagna shiha.

Id-diversi inizjattivi, pressjoniijiet li ghamilna u anke’ is-suggerimenti li tajna, taw il-frott ghaliex wara hafna qtiegh il-qalb nistghu nghidu li wasalna ghal ftehim sodisfacenti ghal kulhadd.

Bhal issa l-Ghaqda qeghda fil-process li tissieheb fil-Kunsill Malti ghal-Isports (KMS) u nisperaw li kif nissiehbu inkunu nistghu nikkwalifikaw biex l-Ghaqda tinghata post mill-Gvern bhala klabb.

Ghaqda Komunitarja tas-Sajd Marsamxett.

The idea of forming the Ghaqda Komunitarja tas-Sajd Marsamxett was first put forward by three friends, Ronnie Magro, Johnny Grima (Il-Gagga) and Jesmond Debattista (Il-Kilo) after having successfully organised a competition for tumbrell fishing at the end of the year 1995.

Magro, Grima and Debattista organised a meeting for other fishing enthusiasts and proposed the idea of forming an association.  This was agreed to immediately as the need for such an association to be formed had been felt for a long time at Marsamxett.  A further meeting was held and it was during this meeting that the committee that was to administer the new association for the next three years, was elected.  A logo for the association was also agreed upon.

The Association organised a one day seminar at the Preluna Towers Hotel for its members and other fishing enthusiasts and this proved to be a big success thanks to the sponsorship of Pirotta Fishing Center of Gzira.  The Association's secretary, Mr. Alfred Bonavia, gave a very big helping hand in organising this seminar.  It was during this seminar that the idea of founding the Federazzjoni ta l-Ghaqdiet Dilettanti
